Most of those works are connected to the obsession of looking for my own space. Because I could not find myself comfortable anywhere, I started to look around me to consider how to create a space, that private area I need to feel better and sometimes to simply breathe. I have tried to express this feeling through many works using different media and that includes ideas such as protection, the research and the visit of spaces, appropriation and so on.

- my own protection (97), ............................................1
- flats coming out of my memory (98), .........................................2
- to learn about a man through his living place (publication, 98), .............3
- construction to be isolated (99), ...............................................4
- first action in the street (99-2000), .....................................5
- to travel and to show the
various spaces discovered (99-2000), ............6
- Packing / piling, facade and flat (99-2000), .......................................7
- back to the street (2000)........................................................8
- staying at home (2000)........................................................9

1 - I was looking for the remains of an animal in myself. On the outfit that I sewed on this theme, I added a physical protection on my back, a kind of roof that I could carry with me, a security that always let me a way to hide myself.

2 - In this 4 models of flats, furniture and characters are just white blocks that you can identify with some words (sensations, feelings...) coming out from my memory.

3 - Thanks to a portfolio of drawings people can learn about a man through his living place. From my point of vue, drawings of his home give more impressions and informations about him than his portait.

4 - During 3 or 4 months in 1999, I build a wood construction for two people to get them isolated from a group. That closed and cosy space -a sort of confessional, could let us have a rest or a quiet discussion.

5 - I wanted to build other cells, but in different forms and fonctions: one for discussion, one for being away of too much noise, one for getting relaxed, and so on. But, how people would react in front of these objects which have no familiar forms? That's one of the reason why I decided to invest accessible spaces in town.
So, 2 months later, helped by a few friends, we painted two spaces in Grenoble streets. It was enough to give them a particular status.

I wanted to awake other places, like bus or tram stops, rooms in railway stations, mainly for people that are waiting for their transport. I wanted to create some kindly and friendly spaces by transforming the architecture, painting, bringing objects... At that time, I discovered Sophie Calle's work on the public phones. So I didn't put into concrete my project.

6 - During the year 1999-2000, I took a lot of photographs in different kind of buildings (block of flats, hotels, houses...) that I visited. The heroes of these pictures are stairs, doors, corridors, lifts and lamps, chairs... All of those objects that we are using every day without paying attention to them. They are build by and for man but there's no man on my pictures.

I turned those pictures into a cardgame to make them accessible to people. So everyone can create his own space using the 36 cards as he wishes.

- In 99, I met the only house where I felt really bad (because of the architecture itself). I wanted to show this feeling with a video but I didn't succeed. I just kept a few photographs, trying to show the atmosphere of the place... Then I made another video of a body unable to breathe confronted with a too large architecture (hight block of flats). This little film should be arranged to be presented.

7 - Packing / piling, facade and flat.
Facades of buildings and boxes are mixed in one picture thanks to this projection of slides. You can discover your building as a pyramid of packed wood boxes.

8 - I looked at "architectures" build by Manfred Pernice, showing the differences between an architectural project and the reality. Why are they closed in this museum (that was so absurd for me)? It was clear for me now: I will build my own constructions in the street, quickly and with the material I will find there, trying to present the urgent need of having my own space. This idea helped me to think the public space in a different way.
